At Hays Human Resources I am currently working alongside our Kingston based client who are currently seeking to recruit a HR Business Partner on an interim ongoing basis.
Job Purpose
To lead and deliver on projects allocated by HR Practice, which may be linked to any one of a number of HR activities, e.g. direct service support, Resourcing, Reward and Recognition, Organisational Development and Employment Practice.
To provide authoritative advice, consultancy and commissioning to Directorates on a wide range of more complex issues.
To develop expert knowledge in one or more HR areas
Principal Accountabilities :
To lead, deliver on and contribute to a variety of HR projects allocated by HR Practice, some of which may be complex in nature, on time and within budget
To deliver against qualitative and quantitative measures in Service Level Agreements with Directorates
To analyse and interpret policies and procedures in order to influence the actions of line managers across the Company and to assist them in meeting legal, procedural and workforce development requirements, including through the Duty Desk.
To devise and implement tailored solutions to complex issues, in line with company policies and procedures, to enable line managers to make informed and timely decisions on staffing matters
To work with operational managers within Directorates and the HR team to ensure that operational HR issues are identified and inform the development of HR strategies to support e.g. direct service support, Resourcing, Reward and Recognition, Organisational Development and Employment Practice.
To assist the Senior HR Consultant / Business Partner in the development of less experienced HR professionals through the sharing of knowledge and experience.
To maintain a thorough knowledge of HR policies and procedures, employment law and relevant case law in order to understand current requirements and best practice
To develop and review (or contribute to the development and review of) policies and procedures to ensure that they reflect best practice, to monitor outcomes, to ensure that such policies are implemented consistently and effectively.
To champion the HR function and develop a broad range of skills across HR in order to deliver a modern, flexible and effective service.
Through personal example to promote the values and behaviours (including equalities) that underpin the organisational strategy of the company
Person Specification CIPD qualified or with a post-graduate professional qualification or equivalent in a related discipline,
Or equivalent suitable experience and currently working towards the CIPD / post-graduate professional qualification or with a commitment to undertake qualification if required.
Experience of project management
An in-depth knowledge of one or more HR subject areas
An understanding of the fundamentals of employment relationships and legislation and the principles of organisational development
Awareness of policies and procedures to ensure resources are efficiently used.
Able to contribute to and manage projects and rapid action teams.
IT literate willing and able to use information, communications and office technology (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Significant, practical experience of working in an HR function in an advisory / consultancy / commissioning capacity.
Experience in developing personal resources to achieve objectives
Experience in implementing service improvements within a complex organisation.
