The UK Compensation and Benefits (C&B) Centre of Excellence in HR is responsible for managing the UK reward frameworks that attract talent and help retain and motivate them as employees. The team has two C&B Process Manager roles that provide end-to-end process management in either pay / salary management or employee benefits. The vacancy is in the area of pay - managing business-as-usual activities (annual performance and salary review cycles; etc) and project work. e.g., globalisation of policy and process.
The role holder has one direct report - C&B Specialist. You will support the development and implementation of a business-aligned compensation and benefits strategy both in the UK and where appropriate globally.
Ongoing design, maintenance and management of competitive salary and performance bonus frameworks.
Management of the delivery channels for the range of C&B frameworks. e.g., through the Shared Services Centre or contract managing 3rd party providers.
External benchmarking and networking to maximise awareness / knowledge of market practice in all areas of compensation and benefits and to ensure that abreast of key changes and trends.
Manage the job sizing / job evaluation processes for the various UK employee categories to ensure there is company wide consistency. (For Band B roles this will involve participation in UK/US Hay job evaluation panels.)
Interpretation of legislation / HMRC tax rules regulating C&B to ensure all policies and processes are legally compliant.
Manage a structured work plan to ensure there is continuous improvement in all pay policies and end-to-end processes and that all risks and issues are mitigated.
Conduct analysis and produce key statistical information / metrics on a proactive basis in addition to data required for decision making in business-as-usual and project activity.
Provision of centre of excellence / specialist input to the resolution of ad hoc business challenges. e.g., specific attraction or retention issues in a line of business. In specific circumstances the role holder will act as the Project Manager and lead the piece of work.
Engaging key stakeholders to ensure that C&B frameworks are relevant and valued.
Managing the communication channels for the pay and benefit programmes ensuring they are fully understood and appreciated.
As this is a pay specialist role you should have experience in either an HR or business role involving practical and detailed application of the existing pay policies and processes.
In depth experience of Hay job analysis and job evaluation; external market salary benchmarking, including the interpretation and application of the pay data, is essential.
Project management experience is also essential
Degree or equivalent and ideally CIPD qualified.
