This non-for-profit organization is looking to recruit an Interim Job Evaluation Analyst to assist with a Job Evaluation project for an employee base of c10,000.
The successful candidate will be required to support the Job Evaluation Manager to provide information and advice to colleagues, staff and managers on job evaluation and job design.
You will be required to use the HAY system of job evaluation and a level of knowledge of this methodology will therefore be an advantage.
Key responsibilities:
1. To evaluate jobs and participate in appeals in accordance with scheme guidelines and job evaluation principles.
2. To develop, maintain and retrieve information from relevant systems (IT and paperbased) in relation to job evaluation and other aspects of the project.
3. To undertake specific pieces of work to assist with the delivery of project objectives, ensuring that deadlines are met and any blockages are reported to the JE Manager.
4. To provide advice and support to managers, employees, trade union representatives and HR colleagues in relation to job evaluation.
5. To analyse and interpret data, providing feedback to management on trends observed and possible actions.
6. To feed in to the development and review of job evaluation conventions, processes and procedures and to participate in the communication of any changes to these.
7. To assist in the provision of training and presentations to staff on job design and job evaluation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
A good understanding of job evaluation principles and techniques
Knowledge of, and ability to apply, different job evaluation schemes
Good understanding of the principles of job structure and design
Ability to analyse and interpret information
Ability to undertake project work or research
Good IT skills, with the ability to use windows based software including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
A good working knowledge of HR processes and practices
A background in developing positive working relationships (eg with managers, trade unions, employees)
Ability to use persuasion to bring about positive outcomes
Ability to deliver information, training and feedback to managers and staff (eg through presentations, briefings etc)
Exposure to collecting, analysing and interpreting information
Organised and systematic approach to work
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Can use initiative and working with limited supervision
