This is an excellent opportunity for an Operational Head of HR to join a successful international law firm. Responsibilities will include the leadership, management and development of HR, managing a total of 19 staff across HR, L&D and Payroll and Benefits. This role will both be responsible for developing innovative HR and Training initiatives, as well as overseeing their introduction and implementation. The successful candidate will have the strategic vision and ability to identify the need for change in the HR practices, whilst being hands on enough to drive through this change.

The Operational Head of HR will set the direction of the HR and Development team, ensuring best practice and high levels of service and quality in the alignment of recruitment, performance management, training and reward with the firm's overall objectives. Previous management experience will be vital to the success of this role as much of it will involve providing clear leadership to the HR and Development team, as well as close support and guidance to department managers and development of the team's expertise and skills.

The successful candidate is likely to have previous partnership experience but may also come from a financial services or retail background. A broad generalist background is essential, ideally with some experience in L&D, and you will be degree qualified, ideally with CIPD qualification. Most importantly however, is a strong team focused approach, the ability to coach and mentor a wide range of staff, a willingness to roll your sleeves up and help out, as well as a strong credibility with all levels, including Partners and Associates.
